8th Grade Technology

The 8th grade technology course is the last in the middle school sequence. Students are given more creative responsibility and explore 2 main projects: creating a video game and creating robots. The students will be using scratch a coding platform to develop an educational video game that helps a teacher teach a lesson. The scratch project will hone the students knowledge of their design process as well as help the student apply problem based learning skills. The robotics project focuses on creating robots using lego robotics, a popular robotics package. The students will learn how robots function, and use this knowledge to create a protype of adaptive technology for people in need of such technologies.
