5th Grade Technology

Welcome to 5th Grade Technology

5th grade is the introductory course to the technology sequence here at Farragut. Students complete self guided lessons using a variety of resources to become 21st century learners and put themselves in the shoes of a programmer. Students are going to be using a variety of lessons from sources such as code.org,codeacademy, techrocket etc. 

The goal of this class is to introduce students to programming logic, then very slowly introduce them to html and java. The platforms through which we learn coding and logic use popular media such as minecraft, angry birds, star wars, frozen etc. to engage the kids in mini coding projects. Students will have opportunity to edit and create real code applicable to real world scenarios.
